At home in Lake Macquarie, NSW

Hello, I’m Jess. Welcome to Watagan Park.

I’m Jess, and Watagan Park Sproodles is part of our family life here in Lake Macquarie. I was drawn to Sproodles because they’re clever, affectionate dogs who love being around people.

I love that they can be out playing with the kids one moment, then curled up beside you for a quiet afternoon inside. That’s what appeals to me most: a dog who enjoys being part of the family.

How we raise our puppies

Cared for here, ready for life with you.

There’s plenty to do before a puppy is ready to leave us. Here’s how we plan our litters and care for our puppies in those first weeks.

Meet the parents & see health checks
  1. 01

    Planning each litter

We plan each litter with reproductive veterinary support from Sires On Ice, considering the parents carefully and keeping litter numbers manageable.

  2. 02

    Health records for each parent

Ask us about the DNA results and relevant health checks for your puppy’s parents. We’ll explain what was tested so you can understand their background before deciding.

  3. 03

    Getting ready for home

Our puppies get used to everyday household sounds and begin toilet training and simple lessons. We give them time to explore, play and rest as they grow.

Picture an ordinary day together

Could a Sproodle fit your family’s life?

Think about your usual week: work, school, time at home and who will care for your dog. We’re happy to talk through whether a Sproodle would suit your household.

Together at home.

Time together

Sproodles enjoy company. Plan for who will be with your puppy during the day, and help them get used to short periods alone gradually.

Learning, play and rest

Make time for short training sessions, play and plenty of sleep. Toilet training and settling in take patience, so it helps to agree on a routine everyone at home can follow.

Brushing and grooming

Waves and curls need regular attention. Make room for brushing, professional grooming and the everyday costs of caring for a dog as they grow.

You don’t need to have every answer. Tell us what your days look like, and we’ll help you think it through.

Questions families ask

Before you bring a puppy home.

A new puppy brings plenty of questions. Here are a few we can help with, from those first nights to coat care and getting home.

Ask about your situation
Where is Watagan Park Sproodles based?

We’re a family-run breeder in Lake Macquarie, NSW. Start with our enquiry form or contact Jess on 0424 829 627 to discuss a puppy, your household and collection or transport options.

What is a Sproodle?

A Sproodle, also called a Springerdoodle or Springer Doodle, is a cross between an English Springer Spaniel and a Poodle. Size, coat and temperament can vary with the parents and each puppy, so it helps to get to know the parents and the puppy.

Is a Sproodle the same as a Spoodle?

The names can be confusing. We use Sproodle for an English Springer Spaniel–Poodle cross. Spoodle commonly refers to a Cocker Spaniel–Poodle cross. If you’re comparing puppies, ask about their parents rather than relying on the name alone.

Are Sproodles good family dogs?

They can be affectionate, people-focused companions, but they are active dogs who need company, daily exercise, positive training and regular coat care. The best fit depends on your household and the individual puppy.

What health testing do the parents have?

You can find the named parents and their health information on our Parents & Health page. Ask us about the DNA panel and any physical health checks for your puppy’s mum and dad. A clear DNA result applies to the conditions tested, rather than every possible health problem.

What is included when my puppy goes home?

Families receive veterinary paperwork, microchip details, age-appropriate preventative care, familiar food or a settling-in item, and a purchase agreement. We provide ongoing breeder support and six weeks of PetCover, subject to its terms. Eligible families paying through RightPaw can also access a 30-day Trupanion introductory offer; activation and policy terms apply.

Can you help arrange transport?

Options include in-person collection, road transport by car or van, and domestic or international air travel where suitable. We can discuss the route and requirements with you; travel depends on the puppy’s age, health and destination rules.

Do you have Sproodle puppies for sale?

Our puppy profiles show the latest published availability. To buy a Sproodle puppy, start with an enquiry so we can talk about your family, the puppy and their price. If you decide to go ahead, we’ll explain the written agreement and reservation process through RightPaw before you pay.

What should I know about coat care and allergies?

Coat texture and shedding can vary, even within a litter. Some Sproodles shed less, but no dog can be guaranteed hypoallergenic. Plan for regular brushing and professional grooming; if allergies are a concern, spend time around the parents or puppy before deciding.

Could a Sproodle suit therapy work?

Some Sproodles may suit therapy work, but it depends on the individual dog’s confidence, calmness, health and training. No puppy can be guaranteed a therapy role. If this is your goal, mention it when you enquire so we can discuss temperament and next steps.
